Types of Water Treatment Sensors Offered by Walchem

Walchem offers a range of wastewater treatment sensors designed to ensure the effectiveness and safety of water treatment processes, and to help maintain the quality of treated water throughout the distribution system. At Walchem, we provide the following types of sensors:

  • Contacting Conductivity Sensors: Used to measure the conductivity of a solution via electrodes in cooling towers, reverse osmosis equipment, and boilers.
  • Electrodeless  Conductivity Sensors: Used to measure conductivity of a solution via encapsulated, non-contacting, toroidal technology in harsh chemical control applications like chromates, oily cleaner baths, rinse tanks, fume scrubbers, and other concentrated chemicals.
  • WEL pH/ORP Sensors: Used to measure pH and ORP values for applications.
  • LPR Corrosion Sensors: Used to measure or control the corrosion imbalance (pitting) or corrosion rate in cooling tower water via linear polarization resistance (LPR).
  • Disinfection Sensors: Used to measure the concentration of oxidizers, without the use of reagents.
  • WDS Differential pH/ORP Sensors: Used to measure differential pH and ORP values in industrial and municipal applications.
  • Pyxis Turbidity Sensors: Used to measure water turbidity in various applications.
  • Pyxis Disinfection: Used to determine numerous oxidizers, including free chlorine and pH and temperature of the water.
  • Copper/Nickel Sensors: Used in electroless nickel or copper baths, microetch baths, as well as a number of chemistries containing at least 0.10 grams/liter of nickel or copper ions.
  • Pyxis Fluorometers: Used to monitor the fluorescence dyes added to cooling tower or boiler water.
  • Little Dipper 2: Used to monitor fluorescence dyes added to cooling tower or boiler water.
  • Handheld Little Dipper Fluorometers: Used to monitor the fluorescence dyes added to cooling tower or boiler water.
  • Pyxis Dissolved Oxygen Sensors: Used to monitor the dissolved oxygen content in water.
  • Pyxis Corrosion Sensors: Used to monitor the corrosion rate in cooling tower water.
  • Pyxis Refractometer Sensors: Used to measure the refractive index of a liquid sample.
