Always upgrade to the latest version for the greatest reliability! We are continuously improving the Intuition-9! Here are the features we have included lately. Please note that if you have an early revision of the software, you may only update to the latest revision, not to any intermediate revision.
Version 4.31
- Version 4.31 supports the new Modbus digital input sensor cards, enabling easy connection with new Walchem digital sensors (CT Contacting conductivity, disinfection) and many other Modbus digital sensors, such as Pyxis. These features are coming very soon.
- New enhanced WiFi option card uses newer technology supporting 5G wireless connections and WPA3 encryption. WPA3 is an option in ad-hoc mode and will be automatically used in infrastructure mode when connected to a WPA3 network connection.
- Three new Fluent gateway servers have been added to the two currently operating in North America – one in Europe, Asia, and China. The server is selectable in the network settings once Fluent is enabled – creating faster, local connections and overall less traffic.
- An AI Conductivity type is now an option for an analog input allowing full conductivity control and alarming from a transmitter version conductivity sensor.
- Ability to calibrate and create up to a 7-point % Concentration curve has been added to select models (WIN9) for Electrodeless Conductivity Sensors. This calibration enables a calibration curve to be created based on % concentration and is often used in the surface finishing industry. This calibration is only accessed from the front panel touch display.
- Added options to the File Utilities menu to run Sensor-only and Network-only upgrades from internally stored software – no USB stick required! These can only be done and viewed from the front panel touch display.
- Added Daily Feed Totalization and Daily Maximum Feed Alarming for Analog Output/Digital Input Flow Proportional control modes.
- Analog Outputs now allow their minimum output values to be set below 0% (4 mA) for Proportional, PID and Disturbance control to ensure the controlled device is off and drive the mA signal down to zero. This feature also adds support for 0-5V proportional pumps.
- Various other network speed and reliability enhancements, improvement to the Software Upgrade link on the controller web page, a correction to Duty based wear leveling.
Version 4.27b
- Changes the DNS for the LiveConnect server to redirect the controller to a new server
Version 4.27a
- Added support for new INT-9 Auxiliary DC Power Board
Version 4.27
- Optimized file storage and enhanced handling of network traffic.
- Many of the common Engineering Units used in the controllers are now part of the standard BACnet protocol.
- Improved compatibility with new IOS/Iphone upgrades and some work was done to help avoid future downtime with IOS/Iphone upgrades.
- Expanded self-diagnostic alarms in the CU/NI controllers to test for disconnections in sensor wires.
- General bug fixes found since last upgrade, most notably in some foreign language screens.
- Admin and Tech level administrators now able to set and change their own passwords.
Version 4.25
- Optimized network communications improving reliability, faster transfer and less data loss.
- Added four levels of security for remote connections as well as at the local user interface (touchscreen).
- Added email field for user-requested “forgot password” requests.
- Changed sign in attempt lock-out to ten times with 30-minute lockout.
- Compliance with GSA requirements for security with all important information encrypted at rest.
- Added Autocomplete setting to enable or restrict browser from using its auto-fill feature of username/password (GSA security requirement).
- Expanded Fluorometer calibration settings enabling calibration either in the controller (current) or at the sensor.
- Expanded Lead/Lag flexibility so each Lag can now be independently interlocked.
- Added a network log download button for easier access and troubleshooting
- Added the Graph File Format type to allow .ZIP files in email reports.
- Log In Timeout setting moved to Ethernet Settings.
- Added LiveConnect Timeout setting to help compensate for modem communication issues
- Expanded the allowable calibration range for disinfection sensors to -300 to 40.
Version 4.23
- Improved the ability to read BACnet packets when they are sent at high rates
- Added an error message when calibration inputs are outside the valid range for that sensor
- Fixed an issue with the Default SSL certificate generation
Version 4.21
- Added protection against brute force password login attacks, locking out login after five failed attempts
- Decreased the maximum allowable network timeout to 240 minutes. Controller data will continue to update in view-only mode as long as a webpage remains open
- Require a strong password for all network users
- Improved the encryption of passwords in the browser
- Fixed an issue where process calibrations via the local touchscreen are possible with security enabled and the user logged out
- Fixed an issue where data logs download links did not expire
- Several other security improvements
Version 4.17
- Option to encrypt LiveConnect
- Encrypt Fluent data packets
- Improve how many decimal places are shown based on conductivity cell constant and units
- Increased number of decimal places for Fluorometer analog input types

Upgrading the software on your Intuition-9 controller is easy! All you need is a 32MB or larger USB flash drive. (Please note: 16GB is the maximum supported size)
- In Windows, a dialog box will open to “Save As” and autofill in the file name in the default save location – typically the “Downloads” folder by default. Do not change the file name, but the location if desired.
- In Windows, go to your Downloads folder (or the location you selected) and extract the file (you will normally have to right click on the file and select “Extract All”). Drag the extracted upgrade file to your desktop.
- Plug in your USB flash drive. The drive window should open. If not, go to “My Computer”, and open it (should be labelled “USB Drive” or “Removable Media” drive). It is recommended to perform a quick format on the USB drive to ensure it is clean.
- Drag the file named Intuition-9_**-v-.bag to the USB drive. Make sure that the Upgrade file is the only file on the drive. The ** will be the Product Name of the file you selected and v— will be the version number of the upgrade.
- Unplug the USB flash drive from the computer. Now you can upload it to your controller.
Note: If you have issues with the Ethernet network circuit, you may need to run an upgrade to get the card back in sync with the controller.
Note: If you add an older I/O card to a controller with newer software, you may need to upgrade the I/O card software. Latest I/O software versions are: Single and dual sensor input boards: v4.23, Dual Corrosion board: v4.27, All other I/O boards: v4.31
Upload the file to your Intuition-9™ Controller:
- Plug the memory stick into the USB Host connection outside the controller’s front panel, located under the waterproof cap on the lower right-hand corner.
- Go to the Config Menu
- Touch File Utilities then scroll to the last page
- Touch Software Upgrade.
- Touch Confirm to begin the upgrade.
- The controller will display the progress of the file import process. Leave the memory stick in place. If successful, the controller will automatically reboot and then the stick may be removed.
