PROBLEM

There has been an increasing attention on the water quality in public use pools and spas due to health and safety concerns. Testing may not be performed regularly or is placed in the hands of inexperienced personnel creating the potential for poor water quality. As a result, many pool and spa managers are looking for assistance in maintaining and assuring the water quality in these systems.

SOLUTION

Application of automated monitoring and control equipment utilized more frequently in these systems, particularly larger pools and spas at municipal sites, universities, high schools, hotels, water parks and therapeutic pools and spas. Walchem controllers and metering pumps fit these applications well. The INT-6/INT-9 controllers fitted with both pH and ORP sensors may be used in many applications.

In more sophisticated applications, an INT-6/INT-9, fitted with pH, ORP and free chlorine sensors are utilized. Direct measurement of the free chlorine is superior to the “bulk” ORP measurement especially in outdoor pools where sunlight quickly breaks down the free chlorine in the pool. In addition, remote monitoring, alarms and data. collection assures the customer that the pool or spa water is properly maintained.
